Quote from Bernadette "O Mary, my good Mother, help me follow your example to generous in every sacrifice Our Lord may ask of me during my life"

In a small grotto in 1858 on the 11th of February, a 14 year old peasant girl called Bernadette Soubirous is believed to have seen eighteen visions of the ‘Blessed Virgin’.
Following these apparitions a spring appeared and reports of healing were described. In 1862 an official pilgrimage was announced and since then people go to pray and to be healed of disability and ill health.

To fulfil the 14th apparition “Go and tell the priests that people are to come here in procession and to build a chapel here”.
