Quote from Bernadette "My Jesus! Oh! How I love him"

Full name: Marie-Bernarde Soubirous

Date of Birth: January 7, 1844, Lourdes, France

Date of Death: April 16th 1879, (age 35 years), Nevers, France

Religion: Roman Catholic

Canonized in: December 8th 1933 by Pope Pius XI

Feast Day: February 18th (In France), everywhere else April 16th

Bernadette was the eldest of five children.

Bernadette could hardly read or write, she suffered from serveral childhood illnesses leaving her weak and asthmatic.

Her parents were François and Louise Soubirous

During the 18 Apparitions which lasted from Feb 11th to July 16th 1858, the Virgin Mary spoke to Bernadette, suggesting that we come here. The response of everyone of us to that invitation is made in Lourdes to-day, a Town of Friendship, world centre of pilgrimage, a special place of meeting with God and people.
